Discount Appliance Outlet is part of a bigger picture.

Discount Appliance Outlet is a subsidiary of DAO (Disposal Alternatives Organization), Indy's recycling leader.  DAO's award winning community programs have created about 100 jobs in the Indianapolis community in just the past two years.  We work closely with the US military and veterans support groups to provide training and jobs to military veterans and others who may have barriers to employment or disproportionate unemployment.

DAO is proud to be a supporter of the Army's Wounded Warrior Program.  We are also a Marine for Life supporter.

DAO's IVET Program (Injured Veterans Employment & Training) provides jobs to service men and women who have been injured in the line of duty.  



At DAO, we believe:

Injured veterans should be the first in line for jobs, NOT the last.

Despite their sacrifices, injured vets have one of the highest unemployment rates of anyone in the job market today.  DAO is working closely with a team of engineers to design prosthetic tools which will allow these vets to excel in the field of appliance repair.

We help vets find a new purpose, protecting the environment.

DAO is a super-green company.  We pick the very best used appliances to refurbish and the remainder are recycled in the most environmentally sound manner possible.  We employ over twenty EPA licensed recycling technicians to dismantle and safely recycle nonconforming appliances.  We are licensed by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

What makes DAO appliances different?

Refurbished appliances are better than "used."

Every appliance we sell has been thoroughly tested, repaired and cleaned.  For example, before we sell a dryer, we remove the casing, then clean and check all components for signs of wear or malfunction.  Then we replace unsatisfactory parts, reassemble the appliance and put it through a series of rigorous tests before it ever hits the sales floor.

All of our appliances carry a full 30 day warranty- parts and labor.

If an unexpected malfunction should happen to occur, we will promptly send a service technician to repair the appliance.  After the warranty, we offer our customers some of the lowest repair costs in the city.

Our uniformed technicians are some of the best in the business.

Our technicians are EPA licensed and certified in our US Department of Labor accredited training facility.  Our techs will arrive at your home on schedule, clean and professional.  We will listen to you, then diagnose and repair the appliance.  If our technician is not satisfied that the appliance will remain trouble free, we will replace the appliance with another that is equal or better than the one our customer purchased.
